We are heartbroken to share the loss of a truly remarkable woman, our dear friend Debbie Buck.
Debbie gave so much of herself to others, quietly and selflessly. She dedicated countless hours to making over 2,000 drain bags for cancer patients at Huddersfield and Calderdale Royal Infirmary, offering comfort and dignity during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Alongside this, she lovingly created more than 1,260 safe purses, ensuring patients’ personal belongings were kept secure during surgery. Every stitch she made carried kindness, compassion, and care.
Debbie was more than her incredible work—she was a radiant soul. Her smile could light up a room, and her positivity touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a true beacon of warmth, strength, and generosity, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
The world feels dimmer without her in it.
From everyone at Jo’s Hope, we are profoundly grateful for everything you gave and everything you were. You made a lasting difference to so many lives, and your legacy will continue through the comfort you brought to others.
Rest in peace, Debbie Buck.
You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
